DePIN Digest
July 8th, 2025
GM and happy Tuesday! I’m Matt, and I’m stoked to bring you the pilot issue of DePIN Digest.
What a week to kick this thing off! The recent 2025 DePIN Report provided an in-depth overview of the DePIN ecosystem, while the WEF’s research estimated a $3.5 trillion market cap in 2028 as investors continue to back DePIN startups, with AI strongly agreeing.
That’s great news because apparently, centralized AI systems could soon implode, with DePIN swooping in to save the day. 🏆
📊 Main Course
Tons of room to grow, as the current market cap of the DePIN sector stands at $16 billion according to DePIN Pulse, with a total number of projects nearing 2,400.
If the WEF’s estimates hold up, we’re looking at a 218-fold increase in market cap.
Got your ships in the water? ‘Cause the tide is about to rise. 🏄
🛠️ Hardware & Infrastructure
Several product and software launches this week. Mawari has announced its new portal, and Beamable has improved gaming and development by integrating new plug-and-play systems. 🎮
Agriculture is also growing, with Grass Network announcing the imminent release of its Grasshopper hardware, plus Farmsent revealing its farmer Superapp. 🦗
Don’t yell in excitement, though, because Silencio rolled out the SoundCheck Chrome Extension for your browser. 🤫
🤝 Partnerships & Integrations
New partnerships, integrations, and events are sprouting up everywhere:
🤝 Aethir Edge X Tashi – (partnership)
🔌 Veraset X Silencio – (integration)
💎 Tokens & Incentives
A new Collator Program from Acurast offers incentives for those willing to help scale the network, and the CUDIS launch of Season 2 is scheduled to take place later this month.
Several major token listings as well, with Kraken having officially listed the Peaq and Impossible Cloud Network tokens. The latter ICN token is also now featured on KuCoin and Binance Alpha. CESS also recently unveiled its token generation event.
💡 Innovation Spotlight
DePIN innovation never sleeps – here are just a few of the recent sectors getting a DePIN facelift:
🌐 DePIN Sectors
Exciting news gets released every week in DePIN, but this week in particular, we’ve seen big moves on the mapping, wireless, and AI/AR fronts.
Hivemapper made several announcements, including courting NBC Universal as a Bee Maps customer and shouting out the next shipment of their Bee LTE and WiFi devices after supply constraints. Things are really buzzing for them. 🐝
Additionally, Map Improvement Proposal 24 (MIP-24) is now under consideration, which, if passed, will significantly improve the protocol. MapMetrics also shared information about its new location feature, which is currently being developed. All in all, a great week for maps. 🗺️
AI and AR also showed out recently, with IoTeX making a huge expansion into AI for real-world physical intelligence, while Auki Labs unveiled some great AI-enhanced spatial computing at the SuperAI conference in Singapore. More DePIN wearables when? 😎
In telecoms, Helium released $50 million in grants to expand its network coverage while passing the 300,000 subscribers milestone. Then there’s Dabba Network, which has also recently shared its progress in providing coverage to underserved markets. Signal successfully boosted! 📶
